16th March 2020
As you are aware from last week’s newsletter, the situation regarding COVID-19 is changing rapidly. We will update you as and when the situation changes.
Following government advice, please do not send your child to school if they have a temperature of 37.8°C or higher, or a NEW continuous cough. Please keep them home for 7 days. Please do not mask your child’s temperature by administering medicine such as Calpol/Nurofen etc prior to the start of the day. If a child is sent home, they will not be able to return for 7 days. We will be strict with our staff too in order to protect you and your children. This also protects the vulnerable members of our school community.
Please make sure that your contact details are up to date, as all further communication – especially in the event of closure and reopening - will be via text message.
If you have any concerns for your child, or the health of other vulnerable members in your household, we fully understand a parent wanting to keep their child / children off school. In these circumstances, the absence will be authorised as code y – “Unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances.”
As always, the safety and care of the children and staff at Red Hill is of paramount importance.
